The Client Challenge
DaVincian Healthcare was engaged in a high visibility national competition, the 2016 PYMNTS/Alexa Challenge, to build a voice-activated product utilizing Amazon’s new flagship product, “Alexa.” DaVincian has a history of delivering integrated product suites utilizing cutting-edge technologies that were previously commercially unavailable, enabling unique and powerful clinical, financial, and engagement solutions. Bytelion was brought into the event as the technical development team for DaVincian Healthcare. We worked closely together to use the power of voice to re-imagine customer service and medication management/compliance. This resulted in the development of DaVincianRX, a voice-activated prescription alert and refill service.
The Bytelion Solution
Under very stringent and compressed time restraints necessitated by the competition deadline, Bytelion worked with the Davincian Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to design a full stack solution, utilizing core business logic for patients to interact seamlessly with Alexa. Bytelion executed front end design, web client programming, AWS API integration, testing and project management over just a few weeks in preparation for the competition. The Bytelion collaborative approach ensured a rapid prototyping structure with deliverables every few days until the final demo was achieved. The resulting web platform features user notification, user authentication, refill tracking, and patient monitoring capabilities. All of these features are accessible via the Alexa voice user interface.
