Stanley Black & Decker approached Bytelion’s engineering team as a partner to customize a platform using advanced IOT technologies coupled with on the floor factory experience to drive human efficiencies and improve quality assurance for their global operations.
The Bytelion Solution
Using lean processes, the team developed a baseline minimal viable product (MVP) to track and enhance human operations. Additionally, they built analytic dashboards and alerting system to keep management informed of plant operations.
Prior to getting started with the technical solution, the Bytelion team toured the factory, studied human processes and created multiple scenario models. Working with factory employees, the engineering team created prototypes based on real world situations before developing are more hardened solution.
Bytelion engineered the entire platform and implemented microprocessors to power the system and interact with factory workers. Using data modeling practices, IOT microcontrollers and RESTful APIs, they developed a highly scalable implementation with remote access that allowed managers to easily configure systems and drive efficiency from any mobile of web based device. Additionally, the team developed high end cross platform mobile applications using React Native and web sockets.
